Google Docs Resume Formatting

Follow these steps to properly right-align the dates and locations in your resume.

Formatting Steps

1. Make sure you can see the ruler and comments

In the menu bar, click on the "View" menu and then: a) make sure there is a check next to "Show ruler", and b) Also in the View menu, click on Comments and make sure there is a check next to "Show all comments"

2. Select All Text

Select the ENTIRE text of the resume either by pressing Ctrl+A or going to Edit → Select all.

3. Add a 'Tab Stop'

Click on the Ruler (the thing with numbers above your doc but below all of the editing tools) between the 5 and the 6; select "Add right tab-stop"

4. Right-Align the Tab Stop

On the Ruler where you clicked, you'll see a blue triangle. Drag that triangle to the right until it is exactly on the 7.
