AI Automation Intern (Summer 2026)
About the Role
Remote or San Francisco · Summer 2026 · Unpaid (for academic credit) · Sophomore–Senior
Start: June 15, 2026 · Length: 10 weeks · Hours: 15–20/week
HiringCoach.ai is a one-person company shipping a real AI coaching product to real users. Our biggest constraint is the founder’s time — specifically, the time it takes to go from a raw idea in a Notion doc to a published post on LinkedIn or TikTok. That whole pipeline today is manual, slow, and brittle.
You will fix that. By the end of the summer, an idea typed into a single inbox should turn itself into a draft post, get reviewed once by the founder, and publish to the right channels — without anyone touching a CMS button.
This is a builder role, not a research role. You’ll write code, wire APIs, and put working automations in the founder’s hands every week.
Responsibilities
The end-to-end deliverable: an “idea → published post” pipeline. You decide whether that lives as n8n flows, a custom Python/TypeScript agent, Claude Code skills, Zapier, or some combo. We care about the artifact, not the stack. Concretely, the pipeline must:
- Ingest an idea (Notion entry, form, Slack message — your call)
- Generate a first draft using Claude/GPT in HiringCoach’s voice (we’ll give you the voice guide)
- Format for the right channel (LinkedIn post, TikTok script + caption, X thread)
- Route to the founder for one-tap approve / edit / reject
- Publish to the right platform via API or Buffer-style scheduler
- Log what shipped to a results dashboard
You’ll also:
- Build one secondary internal automation of your choice (lead routing, customer support triage, analytics digest — pitch us)
- Document everything so the founder can keep it running after you leave
- Record one Loom per week showing the pipeline running end-to-end on real content
What success looks like — by week 4: a working v0 pipeline. Ugly is fine. Idea goes in, draft comes out, founder approves manually, post goes live. At least one real HiringCoach post published through your pipeline.
By week 10: the pipeline is the default way HiringCoach publishes social content. The founder uses it daily. At least 30 real posts have shipped through it. Voice quality is good enough that <30% of drafts need an edit. One secondary automation is live. Full docs and a 15-minute video handover exist.
We do a 2-week checkpoint. If by July 1 there’s no working v0, we’ll have an honest conversation about whether this fit is right. No drama.
Qualifications (required)
- Sophomore–senior in college. CS, data science, design engineering, or self-taught — credentials don’t matter, but you’ve shipped working software
- You’ve built at least one thing that talked to an LLM API (a chatbot, a script, a Claude/GPT app — anything)
- You’re comfortable with one of: Python, TypeScript, or a no-code automation tool (n8n, Make, Zapier) — ideally both code and no-code
- You read API docs without complaint. You debug by reading errors, not by panic-googling
- You’d rather ship an ugly working thing this week than a clean broken thing next month
- You’re opinionated about prompts, structure, and reliability — and you can defend your choices
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience with Claude Agent SDK, LangChain, OpenAI function calling, or building an n8n flow that does more than send a Slack message

How to Apply
Apply through this page. In your cover note, include:
- A 3–5 sentence note on why this — not a cover letter, just a note
- A link to something you’ve built that talks to an LLM (GitHub, demo, video, anything)
- In 5–8 sentences, sketch how you’d build the idea→post pipeline. Don’t write a spec — just tell us the shape of your answer and the first thing you’d ship
- One thing that’s broken in your own life that you’ve automated
No resumes required. We’ll read every application. We’ll respond within 7 days either way.
