How a LinkedIn profile score works
This is the HiringCoachAI profile readiness score: a HiringCoachAI rubric of 49 checks across three lenses, findability, first impression and credibility. Each check names its source and an evidence grade. It is not a LinkedIn metric, and it does not predict views, interviews or offers.
We only score what you import or tell us. Sections we could not read are marked not assessed and left out of the total, instead of counted as missing.
Score your profile
Your profile is scored on our server, and your profile text is not stored by HiringCoachAI. Your scores are kept for 24 hours so you can save them to a free account. When AI checks run, the text is sent to OpenAI, which does not train on API data and may keep it up to 30 days for abuse monitoring. See our Privacy Policy. Not affiliated with or endorsed by LinkedIn.
Bring in your profile
Pick one way to share your profile. We read only what you choose to upload or paste.
- On LinkedIn, click Me, then View profile.
- In your intro card, click More. Some accounts show Resources instead.
- Click Save to PDF, then upload that file here.
Expected time: About 1 to 2 minutes.
What it cannot capture
- Works on a computer only, not in the LinkedIn app.
- English profiles only, and LinkedIn allows 200 PDF downloads a month.
- Leaves out your photo, banner, Featured section and endorsement counts.
- Often shortens your skills list, so we ask how many you have.

Questions about the LinkedIn profile score
What does the LinkedIn profile score measure?
How complete and clear your profile is against a HiringCoachAI rubric of 49 checks, grouped into three lenses: findability, first impression and credibility. It covers your headline, About, experience, skills, education, location, custom URL, photo, banner, Featured and more. Checks worth 13 points are judged by AI and marked Estimated; the rest are rule-based. The methodology page lists every check with its points, source and evidence grade.
Is this a LinkedIn metric?
No. It is a HiringCoachAI rubric, not a LinkedIn metric. HiringCoachAI is not affiliated with or endorsed by LinkedIn.
How do I import my LinkedIn profile?
On a computer, use LinkedIn's Save to PDF. On LinkedIn, click Me, then View profile. In your intro card, click More. Some accounts show Resources instead. Click Save to PDF, then upload that file here. You can also upload the ZIP from LinkedIn's Download your data, which is read in your browser, or paste your sections one at a time. For a quick first read, paste only your headline and About. On a phone, paste your sections: Save to PDF and the data export are not available in the LinkedIn app.
Is my profile stored?
Your profile text is not stored by HiringCoachAI. It is scored and then discarded. When AI checks run, the text is sent to OpenAI, which does not train on API data and may keep it up to 30 days for abuse monitoring. We keep a summary of your result (scores and check statuses, no profile text) so you can save it to a free account within 24 hours. If you continue to sign up, your imported profile is kept in this browser tab only, so your account can pick it up.
Why do some sections say not assessed?
We only score what we could read or what you told us. A section that was not imported is marked not assessed instead of missing, and it is left out of your total, so your score is out of the points we could assess. LinkedIn's PDF leaves out your photo, banner and Featured section, so we ask about them instead. Keyword checks need a target role we recognize or a job description, and wording checks run on English text only. When fewer than 40 of the 100 points can be assessed, we show section results instead of an overall score.
Will a higher score lead to interviews?
No. The score does not predict profile views, recruiter messages, interviews or offers. It shows how your profile reads against a published rubric and which fixes recover the most points.
Is the LinkedIn profile score free?
Yes. Scoring your profile here is free and needs no account. A free account saves your analysis, adds the full AI rewrite pack for your headline, About and experience, includes 3 AI profile analyses a month, and lets you re-score after edits and compare with earlier analyses.
